What does caffeine do to muscles? Chiropractor Answers

What does caffeine do to muscles?

This question was asked on Friday, July 10, 2009 to Dr. Wolverton of Community Chiropractic in Baton Rouge, LA. His answer is presented here in paraphrased form.

Answer: Caffeine is a stimulant. Diet soda products are no good for you. Study the ingredients in a diet drink and the list of symptoms and negatives is very long. It would be better to drink soda with regular sugar in it that to drink diet soda. If they tried to get diet soda approved on the market today, they would not be able to do it because of the bad stuff it has in it. I am going to say that it is diet crap. That's what it is. Diet drinks make insulin kick in which tells your brain that you need more sugar. Soda is an addiction. Don't drink it. You're smart. It's a bad habit. Program yourself to not do that habit. I would stop drinking diet drinks altogether. Tea and coffee are OK in moderation. I drink about 2-5 cups or coffee day. Don't drink diet sodas!

Conclusion: Even though the question was not answered directly, I learned much about the dangers of the ingredients found in diet soda drinks.
